What You can Expect to Learn in Our BLS Certification Classes

Our BLS certification class is a comprehensive course that is meant to teach healthcare professionals the basic life support skills and techniques needed to respond to a wide range of medical emergencies. Upon completion of this American Heart Association approved class, you can expect to have learned life-saving skills such as:

  • When and how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED)
  • How to perform high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants equivalent to what is taught in CPR certification classes
  • All of the steps in the AHA Chain of Survival and how to apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • Signs of someone needing CPR
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in adults and infants
  • How to work as a team in order to perform multirescuer resuscitation in both prehospital and in-facility settings
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device

What You Can Expect to Learn in Our ACLS Certification Classes

Whether you are looking to become ACLS certified for the first time or you are looking for ACLS recertification in Los Angeles, our ACLS certification classes are sure to be the perfect fit for you. This course is designed for healthcare professionals including personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics. Over the course of these classes, you will learn how to recognize and perform early management of respiratory arrest, cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies as well as:

  • Discuss early recognition and management of ACS and stroke, including appropriate disposition
  • Recognize and perform early management of bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Recognize and perform early management of cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including immediate post-cardiac arrest care
  • Model effective communication as a member or leader of a high-performance team
  • Evaluate resuscitative efforts during a cardiac arrest through continuous assessment of CPR quality, monitoring the patient’s physiologic response, and delivering real-time feedback to the team
  • Recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance
